TIL Adolf Hitler was not actually a "Hitler" (Heidler). His father, Alois, was the illegitimate child of Maria Anna Schicklgruber, who later married a Johann Georg Heidler. The Heidler family raised the boy, with his baptismal record later being annotated by a priest to rename him Alois Heidler.
