TIL in 1939, Jules Roth bought the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. He was a convicted oil swindler who allowed the cemetery to fall into disrepair while siphoning off the profits. Roth went bankrupt and died quietly in 1998. His body was dumped in an unmarked grave before it was later moved.
