TIL the longest marathon run lasted 54 years 8 months 6 days 5 hours 32 minutes 20.3 seconds: Shizo Kanakuri, a Japanese runner, entered the race in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He left the course because of exhaustion, silently returned to Japan, became a teacher, only resume the race in 1967.
