TIL about Marie-Marguerite Duplessis Radisson (c. 1718 – after 1740) an enslaved Pawnee woman who challenged her master’s authority over her. Although unsuccessful, she was among the first enslaved people in New France to succeed in even having their case be heard by a court. She did not go quietly.
