TIL that Jens Galschiot's Pillar of Shame sculpture in Hong Kong memorializes the Tiananmen Square Massacre that happened on June 4, 1989. It consists of 50 torn and twisted bodies. There are 3 other sculptures in the world, all to remind us of terrible atrocities that must never recur.
