TIL that when Wendy's re-entered the Japanese market in 2014, they partnered up with (and eventually bought) a Japanese fast food chain named First Kitchen ('Fasuto Ki'chin"). Since Japanese speakers prefer abbreviated names, Wendy's First Kitchen became known in Japan as "Fakkin."
