TIL That cryonic preservation (freezing a corpse hoping that it can be revived in the future) is prohibited in France and British Columbia, Canada. In France, cryonics is not a legal mode of body disposal, and in BC, sale of arrangements for cryonic preservation has been prohibited since 2015.

TIL of Locusta, a notorious ancient Roman serial killer and poisoner who lived during the 1st century AD. Renowned for her expertise in toxic substances, Locusta gained infamy by providing poisons to prominent figures, including Roman emperors. She was eventually executed by Emperor Nero.

TIL about Bass Reeves. 1838 – 1910 The first black deputy Marshall west of the Mississippi River. He worked mostly in Arkansas and the Oklahoma territory. During his long career, he was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons (including his own son). He shot and killed 14 outlaws.
