TIL of the 1626 AD Explosion in Beijing, one of the largest and most lethal explosions ever, and the exact cause hasn't yet been determined. Body parts and animals rained down from the sky. Everything within 3-14 miles was utterly obliterated. The explosion was about equal to the Hiroshima bombing.
