TIL notorious killer, Richard Kulinski, once put a body into a barrel of cement and left it in front of a diner. He regularly visited the diner waiting for the body to be discovered until one day the barrel went missing. The diner's patrons never discussed it and the body was never recovered.

TIL Roscoe Conkling was the last person to turn down an appointment to the United States Supreme Court, doing so in 1882. Conklin had been a prominent lawyer and senator, who drafted the 14th Amendment. His reason for turning down the appointment was only, "reasons you would not fail to appreciate."
