TIL the most money ever paid for a screenplay was the script to the quickly forgotten 2006 Denzel Washington sci-fi thriller "Deja Vu". Terry Rossio and Bill Masilii sold the script for $5 million to Touchstone Pictures. The record price hasn't been broken yet by another screenplay as of 2021.
