TIL: Following the teams first Stanley Cup victory, Edmonton Oilers owner Peter Pocklington included the name of his father, Basil, who was unaffiliated with the team, to be engraved on the cup. After the NHL learned of the move, it ordered the name removed. The name is now covered by a line of X's.
