TIL of Taro Tsujimoto, a fictional Ice Hockey player created by the Buffalo Sabres. Fed up with how long the 1974 draft was taking, the Sabres drafted a fake player named after a local Japanese shop. The NHL made the pick official and only found out just before the start of training camps that year.
