TIL In WWII around 140 Jewish prisoners were employed by the Nazis to forge British pound banknotes for a total value of £300 million ($24 billion in 2020). They were so successful that in 1943 the Bank of England withdrew all denominations above £5, until 1964. All the prisoners survived the war.
