TIL after 50 years researchers have identified the mystery man on the album cover of Led Zeppelin IV as Lot Long, a thatcher who was born in Mere, Wiltshire in 1823 & died in 1893. At the time of the photograph, he was a widower living in a small cottage in Shaftesbury Road, Mere.
