TIL that Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid) spent most of his early years in hospitals, where he was told he would never walk. Following surgery at age 11, he learned to walk; as soon as he walked out of the hospital, an FBI agent escorted him to his family… in an internment camp.
