TIL Chile has its own 9/11. On 11 September 1973, Augusto Pinochet, Minister of War at the time, gave the order to bomb La Moneda to kill the Chilean President Salvador Allende. They could've just got in there and killed him with a gun but they decided to bomb the place. Insane
