TIL in 1959, Ottawa Int'l Airport was planning to open a new terminal. But during rehearsals for the Opening Ceremony, a US fighter jet flew so fast that it caused a sonic boom, which shattered many windows, tiles, and structural columns. The opening had to be delayed by a year to fix the damage.
