TIL: The decorative tag on running shoe laces is called a dubré or dubrae. Coined in ‘94 by Nike designer Damon Clegg for an ACG boot. Clegg had no name to describe the boot’s ornamental lace tag, so referred to it as a ‘doobrie’ – ‘thingamajig’ in Scottish slang. The name stuck.
