TIL in 1992 financier Thomas H. Lee purchased Snapple from its founders for $140 million. Two years later he sold it to Quaker Oats for $1.7 billion. Less than 3 years later, after investing additional hundreds of millions on the brand, Quaker sold it for $300 million.
