TIL your lamp that clicks twice to turn on/off is a 3-stage lamp. If you use the proper bulb, it actually has a low, medium, and high setting. But since most lightbulbs aren't that fancy, they only work on in the medium and high setting, meaning you'll have to click twice to turn it on and off.
