TIL Kauai is the only Hawai'i island not supplied by Hawaiian Electric Company. Instead, the consumer-owned Kauai Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) manages that island’s electricity. Kauai currently runs on over 60% renewable sources and on track to be running on 80% renewables by 2030.
