TIL of Guinea-worm disease where a worm is ingested from contaminated water & around a year later the worm exists slowly usually from the leg, leaving disabling the person for 3-10 weeks. Wrapping the worm around a stick induces it to come out with gentle tension but too much tension can kill it.
