TIL that recently-ousted Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe won a lottery of 100,000 Zimbabwe dollars (about $2,600) in 2000. The lottery was organised by a partly state-owned bank and was open to all clients who had kept Z$5,000 or more in their accounts during December 1999.
