TIL of The Axeman of New Orleans, a serial killer (who killed 6 and injured 6 from 1918-1919) and also an avid jazz fan. In a letter to the newspaper, he stated when he was going to kill next, but also noted that he would spare any occupants of a place where a jazz band was playing.
