Til Vitaly Kaloyev stabbed air traffic controller Peter Nielsen to death in 2004 in an act of revenge for the midair collision in 2002 of two planes that killed 71 people. Kaloyev's entire family died in the crash. He served only four years in prison and was treated lIke a hero by his countrymen.
