TIL that Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort were related: Tom Riddle's mother--Merope Gaunt--was a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin. Cadmus Peverell was her paternal ancestor. Harry Potter's paternal ancestor was Ignotus Peverell, which makes Voldermort and Harry distantly related.
