TIL Egyptian hieroglyphs from 2690 BCE constitute the earliest known complete sentence and is found in the tomb of Seth-Peribsen (2nd Dynasty), Umm El Qa'ab. The sentence refers to the entombed king's father and translates as, "He has united the Two Lands for his son, Dual King Peribsen."
