TIL Dali began selling signed blank sheets of canvas, originally intended as lithographs, to the market, allowing for counterfeiting and forgeries. Around 350,000 authentic Dali blank sheet signatures were released, but in 2016 over 12,000 fakes were seized, one which was estimated at $6.75 million.
