TIL about Boris Weisfeiler, a Soviet-born American mathematician who was kidnapped in 1985 — allegedly for his Jewish faith — by the Colonia Dignidad, a Nazi commune in Chile. His fate remains unknown, as several witness have claimed to have seen him in the Colonia even decades later.
