TIL about Robert Kahn, a Jew who was forced to play his violin for Nazis while they held his parents and ransacked his home in 1938. Later, he hid the violin. He fled the Nazis, served in the US Army in WW2 and, years later, retrieved the violin from hiding, but never played it again.
