TIL: Before filming Bringing Out The Dead (1999), Nicolas Cage did a ride along with real paramedics. Early in the shift, a young adult was shot (in the butt). To prevent choking, Cage pulled the gum out of his mouth at which point the patient recognized Cage but thought he was hallucinating.
