TIL that in 1918, a collision between British HMS Fearless and a K-class submarine started a chain reaction of collisions in two submarine convoys, in which 2 submarines were sunk, 3 damaged, 1 - badly damaged, and 104 lives lost. The incident was named "BATTLE of May Island" to reflect the losses.
