TIL a researcher studying the 'Club 27' myth found that the most common age of death for musicians is 56, not 27. Among 11,054 musicians who died between 1950 and 2010, 1.3% died at age 27. Also, more musicians died at 28 than 27, and those who died young were more likely to belong to a newer genre.
