TIL Jerry Springer resigned from the Cincinnati City Council in 1974 after the bad check he wrote for a prostitute was found by police racked up in the massage parlor’s wall with “For Services Rendered” written in the memo. Springer won the seat back in 1975 by a landslide and became mayor in 1977.
