TIL that the memorial sign dedicated to Emmett Till, a 14-year-old african-american boy who was lynched for whistling at a white woman in Mississippi in 1955, have had to be replaced four times because people kept shooting them full of bullet holes. In 2019, a bulletproof sign was finally erected.
