TIL that California company, Postum Foods, bought East-Coast brand, Hellman's Mayonnaise, in 1927. As a result of the merger, to present day, both brands were preserved in their respective territories, with Hellman's being sold East of the Rockies and Postum (now Best Foods) sold in the West.
