TIL the origins of Banjo Kazooie can be traced back to Project Dream. Developer Rare had spent 16 months developing the game. When Rare saw Super Mario 64, it made their project look outdated. The company completely then scrapped all work on Project Dream and began development on Banjo Kazooie.
