TIL in 1935, suspected for murder Lloyd Holmes shot himself in the head with a .32 caliber pistol in a boatshed. However, the bullet only knocked him unconscious causing him to fall into the water. He later awoke, climbed into a speedboat, and lead the police on a chase for several hours.
