TIL that Franc Roddam, director of 1979 The Who's 'Quadrophenia' and creator of British show 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' is the creator of 'MasterChef'. Roddam had the idea for the show after Mel Brooks mocked British food during a production meeting in the 80s.
