TIL that it was on September 7, 1905 that the first ever bird strike by an airplane was reported, and by none other than Wilbur Wright, an aviation pioneer, as recorded in his diary. This incident occurred when his aircraft hit a bird over Bread's cornfield near Dayton, Ohio.
