TIL Aroldis Chapman holds the record for fastest pitch at 105.1 MPH. When Nolan Ryan played they clocked pitches at 10 feet from the plate, now they clock it at release point. Had Ryan pitched his record 100.9 today it would have clocked at around 108 MPH and he would have regularly thrown 106-107.
