TIL Data from the U.S. ASPE shows mothers are more likely to abuse their children than fathers. Of all child maltreatment cases, 54% of perpetrators were female, 46% male. Among female perpetrators, 86% were biological mothers, compared to 51% of male perpetrators being biological fathers.
