TIL: The Japanese battleship Mikasa is the last pre dreadnought battleship. Built in the 1890s, it fought numerous battles. During the Battle of Tsushima, it fired 124 shells and was hit 40 times. After WW2, the Americans turned it into Club Mikasa, a nightclub for American servicemen.

NXnZ1 TIL the last nuclear explosion happened in 2017. It was performed in North Korea by an underground thermonuclear weapon. It was the county’s sixth nuclear test.

worY8 TIL the first food ever smuggled into space was a corned beef sandwich. It was smuggled onboard the Gemini III NASA mission on March 23, 1965 by Astronaut John Young to give to fellow astronaut Gus Grissom. Grissom was not scheduled to eat anything during the 4 hour 52 minute orbital mission.
