TIL that the "McDonald's hot coffee" case was not actually a woman being greedy. She suffered third degree burns from coffee served above 180 Fahrenheit, hot enough to fuse the skin on her lap when spilled. McDonald's knew that it was dangerously hot for more than 10 years, and warned no customers.
