TIL that in 1976, after two U.S. Army Officers were killed by North Korean soldiers while tree trimming in the Joint Security Area, America and South Korea responded with “Operation Paul Bunyan” in which they brought a 813 man team, attack helicopters and fighter jets to chop the tree down.
