TIL that in 1965 in Turkey, a bus hit a truck that was loaded with nitric acid that stopped in the middle of the road due to a shaft issue from behind. When passengers get off the bus, their feet burned and thinking there was water in the nearest pit, they jumped into nitric acid pit. 25 died.
