TIL that 88 million pounds (40,000 metric tons) of cosmic dust rain down on Earth each year, which is produced by collisions between asteroids and spewed from comets as they pass through the inner solar system. That's still a tiny amount though, as Earth is about 6,000 billion billion metric tons.
