TIL following John F Kennedy's assassination, VP Lyndon B Johnson was to take the oath of office as president. Someone found a book with a cross on it on a side table in President Kennedy's cabin on Air Force One and assumed it was a bible. It was a missal, a book of Catholic mass texts and verses.
