TIL years ago DirecTV was widely pirated. The piracy ‘war’ largely ended through a 'trojan horse’ attack that destroyed most hacked access cards. To add a little 'spice’, DirecTV’s “Black Sunday” attack rewrote the first 8 bytes of the card to read “GAMEOVER”.
