TIL the movements of Sir Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations are named after his friends and family. The most famous movement, Nimrod is a wordplay and represents his friend August Jaeger, Nimrod being the biblical “mighty hunter” and Jaeger being German for “hunter”.
